What Is The Art Of War ?

The Art Of War is a Chinese military treatise believed to have been written by Sun Tzu in the 6th century BC. The text, comprising 13 chapters, is written in the form of a series of polemical essays concerning warfare and politics. It is commonly referred to as a guide on war strategy and tactics.

How Has The Art Of War Helped Me ?

I was first introduced to this book in my college literature courses.  In between doing my photography part time job, I spent a lot of time reading. I found it to be an excellent insight into the psychology of warfare, and how you too can use certain tactics in your own everyday life. The teachings in it are absolutely timeless- there is no age requirement when using the information inside.

The book does not require your age to meet a certain criteria- it is based on your experiences and how you perceive the world. It's possible that this book has never been read by everyone, but instead absorbed unconsciously. It's also possible that there are some people who will study this text for their entire lives, using the wisdom within it to shape their thoughts and actions.

Why Read The Art Of War ?

I'm not sure if you already have the book, but I would definitely recommend reading it at least once. Even if you don't enjoy it or gain anything from it, the writing itself is very fun to read- so at the very least you'll be entertained.

Time Is A Great Factor  - Sun Tzu

What Is The Purpose ?

Sun Tzu said: Now the general who wins a battle makes many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought. The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! How To Use The Information  - Sun Tzu

(2) when active, inactivity;

(3) when near, make it appear that you are far;

(4) when far off, represent yourself as near;
